The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series, engineered by BMW’s motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. First introduced in 2014, the M4 replaced the earlier M3 Coupe and continues the legacy of precision handling, powerful performance, and everyday usability. It’s available as both a coupe and a convertible, with a bold, athletic design that features aggressive aerodynamics, flared wheel arches, quad exhausts, and—on newer models—a distinctive, oversized kidney grille.
Under the hood, the M4 is powered by a twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, delivering anywhere from 425 to over 500 horsepower, depending on the version (standard, Competition, CS, or CSL). It offers rear-wheel drive or BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive in some newer variants, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a quick-shifting automatic transmission. The car is engineered for dynamic driving, with adaptive suspension, upgraded brakes, and advanced traction systems.
